Tintinnabulant

Come on, skinny love, just last the year

So one of my sister’s friends recently asked me if I liked Jason Mraz, to which I answered that I did, but I was more of a Glen Hansard kind of girl. I then preceded to list off some of my favorite male singers. She had heard of none. Not surprisingly, I had soon promised her both the list (in writing) and the links to some of their best songs.

Seeing as I already took the time to do it, I thought I’d post it here, for those of you that need a refresher.

Lisa’s Concise List of Phenomenal Male Crooners

Glen Hansard– lovely Irish guy, member of The Swell Season and The Frames, was featured on the movie Once, best concert I’ve been to ever (and that’s saying a lot)

-In These Arms
-Leave
-What Happens When the Heart Just Stops
-Sleeping
-Back Broke

Damien Rice– an angstier Irish guy, but a lyrical genius and super passionate, also stellar live

-Coconut Skins
-Accidental Babies
-9 Crimes

-What This Night Is For

-The Professor & La Fille Danse

Sufjan Stevens– writer of state-themed songs and holder of some of the best opinions on God I’ve heard, I want him to play for me on my birthday

-Chicago (Acoustic)
-The Dress Looks Nice on You
-Springfield
-Jacksonville

Andrew Bird– like Sufjan with less states and more orchestra

-Measuring Cups
-Masterfade

M. Ward– the “Him” in She & Him, a very witty guy and lots of fun live

-Chinese Translation
-Four Hours In Washington
-Right In the Head
-Fuel for Fire

Alexi Murdoch– mmm such a smooth voice, I would totally date him haha (no, but seriously…)

-Song for You
-12
-Dream About Flying
-Love You More

Well, that should be a good start. Enjoy!

-LisaM.

Ps. Anyone have any suggestions to add to the list? I know I can think of a few…
