So I am finally among the land of the living– that is, those who have got more than an hour of sleep in the last 24 hours. And I have double that, so I should be double alert. Theoretically.
The Dave concert was…amazing [aka exactly how I expected it to be.] Stay tuned for a full all-star review!
Captain Love by Mock Orange

The other day I randomly bought a new album [via Amie Street], Captain Love by Mock Orange. And I must admit, they grew on me. Their first few tracks gave the general feel of your typical indie rock band– nothing too special. But as the album progressed, the tracks expanded a bit stylistically, and they played some mean guitars. And Ryan Grisham’s scratchy, intonation-rich, sometimes warbly voice definitely does the music justice. So all in all, I give Captain Love a solid above par [which, I guess, comaparatively means very little seeing as my rating style is not uniform..].
Notable Tracks: “Majestic Raincoat,” “Old Movies”
Oh, and random fact: Mock Orange is a genus of about 60 species of shrubs from 1 to 6 m tall, native to North America, Central America, Asia and (locally) in southeast Europe. And I really thought it had to do with antlered cows..
Finally, a recommendation from the Peruvian: El Grupo 5
Swivel those hips, people!
