I know I already hyped this, but I have had this song on repeat for I don’t know how long! Listen, revel, bang on something!
The Cave Singers, “Dancing On Our Graves”

Yet another must-hear:
New Tones by NOMO
These guys have soul–jazzy brass world afrobeat soul. I can just hear the deep-voiced commercial man saying, “Ooohh yeahh” now. Upbeat, slow, jubiliant, sensual: they’ve got it all, and as befits a band of their caliber, each song is a new experience, and every track will, without a doubt, have you tapping your toes. With NOMO, music is not a sound but an story, and it’s just soo good. New Tones, released in 2006, sees a younger group that exhibits- quite understandably- a more traditional (and perhaps slower) jazz set. If the tracks I have heard from their new album are any indication, however, NOMO has firmly set foot into more innovative, energetic, synth-inspired territory. More on that soon. As soon as I get my ears on a copy of Ghost Rock.
Notables: “New Tones,” “Fourth Ward”
In other news, I got my Mac yesterday and am now laboriously trying to send my rather replete iTunes to it via shared network. And also I have, once again, been obliged (yes, obliged) to get new shoes, most probably due to the fact that left to my own devices, I would pick one pair of shoes and wear it into the ground. Ah well, such is life..
